The Turkey Give-Away - Thanksgiving 2020 for Show Low Citizens!
Thanksgiving 2020 for Show Low Citizens!
Our residents have been resilient, understanding, and patient during the last seven months since COVID-19 restrictions were enacted. There have, however, been many hardships and during this holiday season, several of Show Low’s nonprofit organizations teamed up and approached the City with an idea to help those in need. Representatives from White Mountains Meals on Wheels, who operate the Show Low Senior Center, Show Low Main Street, and the White
Mountains Women’s Club came together to coordinate a one-time event to purchase and distribute Thanksgiving turkeys or ready-made meals to *Show Low residents this holiday season. Those who would rather have a readymade meal for Thanksgiving can elect to take a meal in lieu of a turkey.
White Mountains Meals on Wheels, Show Low Main Street, Show Low High School Students, and other volunteers along with city staff, will hand out meals and turkeys to Show Low residents.
*All resources available first come first served while supplies last.
We are seeking the following items if resources are available from those who are receiving meals/turkeys. Canned Green Beans, Canned Corn, Canned Peaches or any Canned Fruit, Canned Soups, Canned Beans, ie: Black, Pinto, Kidney, Baked, etc., Instant Mashed Potatoes, Instant Stuffing/Dressing, Instant Gravy.
The turkey give-away will take place on Monday, November 23, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. East of the LDS Downtown Chapel on 11th St.
The ready-made meals will be handed out during the same time and date at the Show Low Senior Center at 301 East McNeil.
